Making impact with a designerly approach

On this site, I'd like to share a bit about myself and my work. I am a designer, and I find great energy in tackling complex challenges that require collaboration with many stakeholders (the more, the merrier) to achieve societal impact and systemic change.

Making a difference

In my daily work, I guide and facilitate complex collaborations among stakeholders aiming to make a difference for the future. I do this through various organisations, Zwaluw | Innovation & collaboration, VanWaarde, and Change by Play, but always with the same vision. I believe that only together, with parties from different sectors, we can truly make a difference. I also believe that a designerly approach can effectively bring together these different worlds and help establish a feasible and positive vision for the future.

In my spare time, I enjoy working on renovating our house with my partner, where we're transforming a former post office from 1879 into a passive house. This often goes hand in hand with cooking and enjoying a good meal to perfectly round off a day of DIY.

Change by Play

About me

When people describe me in a few words, the following terms come up: Driven, creative, analytical, entrepreneurial, the first to act, motivator, perseverant, hands-on, enthusiastic, maintains the overview, and goal-oriented.

Once, in a LEGO Serious Play session, a model was created about my role in a team. I am someone who can direct people, all looking in different directions, towards a single goal and connect them. I do this, metaphorically, with a 'gun' in my hands to clear away anything that distracts or obstructs them so they can focus on what's important. This way, the team can reach the common goal together with energy.
